Consultation Guidelines & Expectations
Our team is excited to work with you! Due to the small size of our team, requests are queued and prioritized by School and strategic alignment. Please expect possible delays. We greatly appreciate your understanding and patience.
Our IT team handles a variety of requests for engagement and coordinates technology expertise from different groups to respond with the best possible solutions. This information gathering process helps us to engage with these requests more efficiently. Your participation in the intake process helps support a successful collaboration.
Overview of the Process
1. Tech Assessment Form
This document helps our IT team understand details of your request, the data collected, support needs and other details. Using the guidance in the right-hand column, please complete this form as thoroughly as possible. This comprehensive set of questions gives our team concrete information to provide informed advice.
2. Data Questionnaire
For many consultation requests, there is a focus data. Specifically, IT must consider the stewardship of publicly shared data, the security of the systems representing Tulane, and the regulatory/compliance requirements. Concrete answers to these questions are very helpful. Of course, we are happy to discuss these further if the jargon is unfamiliar after an initial attempt at completion.
3. Consultation
Once the forms are thoroughly completed, please email them to ResearchIT@tulane.edu. We will review the submission to ensure all relevant details are included and may request additional information for proper scoping. Consultations will only be scheduled once both forms are received.
After completing the above processes, we present the project to other groups to identify a wide range of potential solutions based on the goals outlined and any constraints identified.
