The Innovative Learning Center (ILC) partners with faculty and staff on academic research strategies and acts as a liaison between Information Technology (IT) and faculty. By complementing skilled technologists and cutting-edge technologies, the ILC is a space for faculty to explore what is possible in academic technology now and prepare them for future trends in higher education and beyond. Learning Services

We’re here to help you make the most of Canvas for your teaching. Whether you are looking to streamline course organization, explore advanced tools, or implement best practices for student engagement, our team is ready to help. 

We support teaching and learning by: 

  • Providing one-on-one consultation with faculty

  • Designing and leading technology programming for faculty and staff

  • Helping faculty design instructional projects for courses

Teach Anywhere


Teach Anywhere Office Hours occur weekly for you to drop in, ask questions, and receive feedback on anything from Canvas to academic technology and pedagogical practices. Virtual office hours are jointly hosted by team members from both the Innovative Learning Center (ILC) and the Center for Engaged Learning and Teaching (CELT)

  • Fall and Spring Semesters: Mondays and Thursdays, 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM

  • Summer Semester: Mondays, 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM

Tulane sponsors an array of apps and software in the academic tech stack available to faculty, researchers, students and staff as part of the learning journey. Register for an upcoming workshop, schedule a 1:1, small-or-large group training or presentation with the ILC team to explore enterprise licensed apps available to you.

Tech Talks Summer Series 2025

Hosted by HR’s Talent Development team and the Innovative Learning Center (ILC), Tulane’s Tech Talks Summer Series is your go-to hub for quick, practical learning designed to fit your schedule and boost your skills. Held throughout the summer, this series offered 45-minute sessions led by Tulane experts, covering topics like AI in the workplace, Excel mastery, and Tulane-specific tools and resources.

Instructional technology supports teaching and learning through the intersection of technology and pedagogy, digital exploration, and classroom design. The ILC is accessible to the teaching and learning community to gather insights, ideas, and experiences in person, online, and through spaces like the IDEA Lab. 


IDEA Lab

The ILC IDEA Lab is a creative space equipped with cutting-edge technology available to faculty and staff for ideating, 3D and spatial modeling/rendering,  VR exploration, a large-format printer, and Scantron grading. The lab includes access to high-performance Alienware Aurora computing with Wacom tablets, Adobe Creative Cloud, ArcGIS Pro, and Unreal Engine.

Meeting Spaces

The ILC is co-located with CELT in a faculty-focused shared space equipped with two conference rooms, two breakout rooms, and a multimedia classroom. Reservation requests are available for meetings, workshops, and small gatherings primarily designated for faculty, staff, and related university programming. All requests are subject to an approval process and room availability considerations. Stop by to check out the space! Howard-Tilton Memorial Library, Suite 300.

Classroom Experience

The Classroom Experience Assistant (CEA) program is a team of Tulane students trained in instructional technologies, ranging from the classroom media equipment, such as cameras and microphones, to EdTech software, such as Zoom. CEAs provide on-demand support for faculty with issues in the classroom and other projects as requested.
