IT Project Proposal Requests

The IT Project Proposal Request form serves as the initial step in reviewing a need, challenge, or pain point that may be addressed by a technological solution that aligns with the strategic goals of the university while meeting established information security and compliance standards. This form captures essential details regarding the identified need, challenge, or pain point and triggers a review and evaluation process.

A Business Relationship Manager (BRM) guides the requester/sponsor through this process and is responsible for overseeing the evaluation process. The evaluation process may involve identifying funding sources, assessing solutions aligned with business needs, determining resource allocation and accessibility, and implementing accountability measures to ensure project success. At the conclusion of evaluation, approved requests are integrated into the active IT project lineup according to their priority ranking.

Considerations Before Submitting an IT Project Proposal

  • Requests must receive approval from the Department Head/Dean to ensure strategic alignment and accountability.
  • Requests should align with one or more strategic goals of the University and contribute measurable value to the respective department or function.
  • Requests should have funding identified before submission, except in cases where assistance with a business case is needed.
