Box File Storage
Faculty & Staff Sign Up for Box Accounts
Faculty and staff can register online to activate their secure storage on Box.com https://tulane.box.com.
What is Box?
Box online storage is like a hard drive in the cloud. Store documents and files in Box and then access them anywhere, anytime, from any device. Box also can sync files from your local hard disk automatically providing a backup that will always be available from other computers and devices. All Tulane faculty and staff have access to unlimited storage on Box and can view and access their content anywhere, anytime, on any device.
Who has access?
All Tulane Faculty and staff have access to storage on Box. Students do not have access to a Tulane provisioned Box account but may create personal accounts directly with Box with 10GB of storage.
HIPAA Protected Data
Tulane now has a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with Box cloud storage that allows HIPAA protected data to be stored on Box.
Notice: Greenspace online file storage has been retired as of January 15, 2015
Use of Greenspace file storage was restricted to users with HIPAA obligations in January 2013. Tulane now has a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with Box cloud storage that allows HIPAA protected data to be stored on Box. We have now retired Greenspace permanently as of January 15, 2015.
Users with files stored on Greenspace have been notified given instructions as to how to transfer files off of the system. If you neglected to remove your files please contact the Service Desk.
Although the Tulane Box environment is only available to faculty and staff, students may create personal accounts directly with Box with 10GB of storage. Visit https://www.box.com to set up your box account. When creating this personal Box account, do not use your @tulane.edu email address.
Microsoft’s OneDrive is also available to students as a free cloud storage solution. OneDrive is a part of Microsoft Office365 and provides one terabyte of storage as long as a student is enrolled at Tulane.
