Zoom AI Companion

Zoom’s AI Companion is now available in Tulane’s Zoom environment. Meeting hosts may enable the AI tools in their accounts using the following instructions. The Zoom AI Companion can summarize meeting topics for participants and add highlights and chapters to Zoom cloud recordings. 
 

How to Enable Zoom AI Companion in your Tulane Zoom Account

Before using Zoom AI Companion, make sure you are using the latest version of the Zoom desktop application and update the Zoom client if needed.  

  1. Go to tulane.zoom.us and login with your TU username and password.  
  2. Select Settings from the menu on the left.
  3. Select the AI Companion tab from the menu at the top of the page.  
  4. Enable/disable settings as needed.

 

The following settings cannot be modified:

Meeting Summaries:

  • Automatically start Meeting Summary for all meetings I host
  • Auto-delete meeting summaries time range
  • Ask-in meeting questions – Automatically start AI Companion questions for all meetings I host  

Smart Recordings:

  • Delete cloud recordings and transcripts after a specified number of days

 

Zoom AI Companion Additional Considerations

  • The meeting host is the default recipient for meeting summaries and controls who receives a copy.  
  • 1:1 conversations with the AI Companion are not visible by the meeting host or participants and is not included in the meeting summary.
  • 1:1 conversations cannot be saved.  
  • 1:1 conversations with AI Companion are not available in breakout rooms.  
  • AI Companion is not available for webinars currently.
