Panorama: Is your Course Accessible?
Faculty and course instructors may see a few new icons next to their Canvas course content. Those icons provide a quick visual summary of the course accessibility score provided by the recently introduced Panorama Digital Accessibility platform. Panorama launched May 11th at Tulane to support accessible and inclusive course design within Canvas. Ongoing training and support for Panorama is provided jointly through the ILC, CELT, and the Office for Campus Accessibility (OCA).
Panorama generates accessibility scores for a multitude of file types, including PDF and editable HTML. Accessibility score icons are displayed next to each file type and near the top of HTML content. For quick reference:
· Blue circle icon: Accessibility icon (Student View)
· Green hexagon icon: High accessibility scores
· Yellow triangle icon: Medium accessibility scores
· Red hexagon icon: Low accessibility scores
· Grey prohibition icon: Alternative formats for this document are disabled currently
· Purple circle icon: The file is being processed for accessibility
