Classroom Preparedness

Essential Resource Description and Guidance
Canvas (Learning Management System) The ILC and CELT have provided a comprehensive training guide for online teaching.
Box (HIPAA Compliant File Storage) All Faculty and Staff users have unlimited online cloud storage through Box. This storage is integrated with the Canvas LMS. Learn how to use Box in Canvas.
Zoom (Web Conference) Zoom Video Conferencing is available for Faculty, Staff, and Students. Video conferencing is fully interactive and allows all participants the ability to see, speak, hear, and screen-share with each other.

Sharestream (Store Zoom video recordings) The ShareStream Media Platform can be used for uploading, editing, storing, managing and delivering video and audio content in a secure environment. View ILC Sharestream training.
Fileshare/Network drive access Fileshare/network drive access is only available on the internal network. Please contact the Service Desk to have an IT representative assist you in migrating your files to Box cloud storage. If you need to access your files directly, a Virtual Private Network (VPN) client and Anti-Virus protection client can be installed on your device for remote access. Currently we have a limited number of concurrent connections; be sure to log off when your work is completed. IT is working to increase bandwidth and support for additional users.

Respondus LockDown Browser (Proctoring Service) Canvas quizzes can be administered in a course through Respondus LockDown Browser which requires a simple download. Students will take the quiz in the browser which will shut down all other applications on their computer while the quiz is in process. Learn more.

Gibson Portal IT anticipates no disruption to normal use in the event of University closures.
Kronos (HR/Payroll) IT anticipates no disruption to normal use in the event of University closures. Please check with your department if you use a physical time clock.
Oracle EBS (HR & Finance) IT anticipates no disruption to normal use in the event of University closures.

Printing (transcripts, diplomas, payroll checks) Consult with your department about special printing procedures. Please contact the Service Desk for further assistance.
Internal Phone System Softphones are virtual phones that are available to Windows/Mac/Mobile users. These phones will perform inbound and outbound calls from your office number. To request a softphone please visit support.tulane.edu and sign in to access the request page.
