Content Owner (Admin) Capabilities

Content owners have the ability to create, edit, delete courses and live trainings and to manage groups within TULearn. Content owners make sure the content living on TULearn is up-to-date, relevant and is vetted.

Content Requirements

For content to be included within TULearn, the learning program must meet the following criteria:

  • Support the University, department or business units’ goals and strategic objectives.
  • Be managed by a content owner who will review content, run reports, archive or delete learning material as needed.

Items to be excluded from the TULearn include:

  • Messages or announcements that could otherwise be sent through email, policy statements, and other communications that are not ongoing learning programs
  • Spam of any kind or other inappropriate material conflicting with the University’s standards and policies

Items placed within the learning library should only include:

  • Live training(s) available for registration to University faculty and staff
  • Courses available to the entirety of University faculty and staff

Each learning program must be authored by an individual within the department or business unit that will serve as the content owner. The content owner will create, deliver, and manage a course that is relevant, up-to-date, accurate and will respond to learner inquiries relating to the course and its content. All content owners with active learning programs in the LMS are required to participate in scheduled content reviews, shelf-life management, including archiving. Courses with no user enrollment that are no longer needed can be deleted by the content owner. Courses with user enrollment that are no longer needed must be archived by the content owner.
