Students Discover "Digi-Tools" During Camp Commons Collaboration

Tulane's student organization, Value in Virtual Access (VIVA), played a key role in amplifying awareness of Tulane's digital learning ecosystem during the recent Camp Commons event hosted by the Tulane Hospitality department on April 29, 2026. Through a tabling initiative in partnership with the Innovative Learning Center (ILC) and Tulane IT's Software team, the VIVA members helped introduce fellow students to a range of "digi-tools" designed to support academic success, creativity, and collaboration. This kind of peer-to-peer engagement created an approachable entry point for students to explore resources they may not have otherwise encountered.

Throughout the event, students learned about practical tools they can immediately apply to their coursework. Platforms like Box Cloud were highlighted as an easy way to back up important documents---especially timely as finals approach--and to collaborate on group projects seamlessly. Creative tools such as Adobe Express and the broader Creative Cloud suite also drew strong interest, particularly among students preparing presentations and final assignments that benefit from polished, visually engaging content.

In addition to showcasing software, the tabling effort emphasized the broader network of support available to students. Attendees were reminded that assistance with Canvas LMS and other digital tools is readily accessible through Tulane's IT support team. Opportunities like this not only increase visibility of available resources but also reinforce a shared commitment to ensuring that students feel confident and supported as they navigate their digital learning environment.

ILC partners with instructors throughout the year, offering workshops during regular class sessions to increase students' awareness of the digital tools available to them. Email ilc@tulane.edu to schedule a class visit.
